- Palestinians lost their homes to others not to fire, all the things they had were taken away, in story the characters leave to try and get a future for their family- Kuwait very wealthy
- In book the people die to try and get to jobs to earn money, make a better life but destroyed by it, happens in real life
- blame falls on both sides of the coins- Palestinians and Israel
- Kanafani born in Acre Palestine 1936, father was a lawyer- had advantages over others, father was involved in fighting with Israel, Acre taken over by other Israel army later on
- Went to French Missionary School and University of Damascus, was involved in Pan Arab nationalism which caused him to be kicked out
- Used Pen and Paper to fight not physically- balanced compared to other stories, writes for many different organizations
- became more interested in Marxism in 1970, appealed to them
- Kanafani was seen with Japanese Red Army (Communist) that killed many Israelis at airport
- Kanafani was a pain but nothing to kill him til this and killed by a car bomb- killed him and his niece- by Israeli form of CIA- Mussa?
- Min the Patriot went to US and Communists for help to free his country, helped by the Communists and US ended up fighting in his country
